Boardside founder ranked as Leading Individual by Chambers UK

Boardside founder and Principal Solicitor Richard Port has been ranked as a leading individual by top legal guide Chambers UK just weeks after launching his own practice in Harrogate.

Richard established Boardside in September to provide strategic advice at senior management and boardroom level and offer the knowledge of a large law firm with the benefit of a more personal and targeted service.

He is featured as one of Yorkshire’s top employment solicitors in the 2018 Chambers UK guide, published this month, which describes him as “approachable, sensible and commercial.”

During his career as an employment lawyer Richard has advised company boards, UK trusts and senior executives, including those from FTSE 100 companies, on employment law issues, often in support of corporate transactions in Yorkshire and beyond. He has held partner roles at Ward Hadaway and Clarion Solicitors and prior to that spent a number of years working as part of the Leeds employment team at Addleshaw Goddard.

Richard said: “This endorsement is particularly significant, coming at a time when I am establishing an exciting new concept in employment law that has been inspired by my experience advising corporate boards, senior executives and companies during a career spanning 20 years.

“I will be helping directors, trustees and senior managers set policy, address knowledge gaps and prepare for growth and the fact that my capabilities have been endorsed by such a highly regarded independent body will give them added confidence.

“Chambers UK bases its rankings and recommendations on thorough research and feedback from clients and peers which is why this listing is so valuable, especially as I launch my practice,” added Richard.
